Greek mythology lessons at staellinika.com

The website www.staellinika.com enriches its content with Greek mythology courses offered to students in the United States. The platform is the official programme of the Greek State for the teaching and learning of the Greek language, mythology and Greek culture in the Greek diaspora.
The staellinika.com platform which was made available for use in the fall of 2020, is an initiative of the General Secretariat for Public Diplomacy and Hellenism Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the SNF Center for Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and with the support of the Archdiocese of America’s Directorate of Education, already has over 30,000 users in the United States and is aimed at students either in classrooms or home-schooled individuals.
The Secretary General of Hellenism Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Ioannis Chrysoulakis, noted that “the Staellinika offers a bridge for young people of the diaspora to reach the roots of their cultural heritage” while the director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s Centre for Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University, Dr Dimitris Krallis, stressed that “The Staellinika offers a fun yet informative learning experience at a time of great stress as our societies enter the post-pandemic era. The next generation of Greeks in the diaspora will have the necessary tools to keep alive their connection to the Greek language, history and culture in the future, as a result of our collaboration with our long-time partners in the Greek government and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, and with the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.”
The platform’s actions are complemented by the apps that accompany the initiative, a special mobile programme, environments for teachers and students. To use the platform, registration is required (individual, by school or link to other platforms). Please note that the courses are for students of all ages, from 4 years old and above.
