The time during which Greeks, even before the acquisition of Greek citizenship, have at any time served in an armed military capacity in a regular armed forces of an allied state or a member state of the European Union is recognised for the purpose of covering their military service and any additional military obligations they may have. Those who do not meet the above obligations in full may redeem the balance within two months, after having been recognised as having served for at least three months in the regular armed forces of an Allied State or a Member State of the European Union.
