ELIDEK invites applications from interested doctoral candidates for the 2nd ELIDEK Call for Doctoral Candidates which aims to support researchers to conduct high quality research in Greece.

Applications can be submitted from 15 June 2018 at 3 p.m. until 20 July 2018 at 3 p.m. The scholarship is for a dissertation at Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) and Higher Military Educational Institutions (SMI) in Greece and the duration of the funding (in the form of a scholarship) is from 12 to 36 months.

Scientific areas of research

Applications will be classified in one of the following broad scientific areas at the choice of the applicant:

Β. Engineering Sciences and Technology

Γ. Life Sciences (Medicine and Health Sciences)

Δ. Agricultural Sciences and Food

Ε. Mathematics and Information Sciences

F. Social Sciences

Ζ. Humanities and Arts

Η. Environment and Energy

Θ. Management and Economics of Innovation

In addition, the income subject to solidarity tax of the HR for each tax year in which the scholarship is granted, together with the amount of the scholarship for that year, should not exceed fifteen thousand euros (€15,000.00). In case the HR has a disability rate of 67% or more, this income together with the amount of the scholarship, for each tax year, should not exceed nineteen thousand euros (€19,000.00).

Budget and duration of the scholarship

The total public expenditure of this Call for Proposals amounts to ten million euros (10.000.000,00€). The monthly amount of the PhD Candidate’s scholarship is nine hundred euros (900,00€).
